Randy D. Gibson, MA, BA, CEO/OwneR

 

A Cherokee Nation citizen and Oklahoma native, Randy has more than 30 years of public relations and media management experience.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism – Public Relations in 1988 from the University of Oklahoma and his Master of Arts degree in Journalism – Media Management in 1991 from OU where he graduated top of his class within the School of Journalism.

During his extensive public relations career, Gibson has traveled across the U.S. working for the Ground Water Protection Council and the Association of Energy Service Companies as Director of Communications and the Texas State Rifle Association as Executive Director. In 2002, Gibson returned to his hometown of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, as the Executive Director of the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Council and in 2005 became the Communications Manager at the Cherokee Nation.

In 2011, he was honored to become the Program Liaison and Media Director for Cherokee Nation Public Health, where he has worked with the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Health and Human Services, state health departments around the U.S., the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Nike, and other organizations in the formation of partnerships where he was responsible for the development and oversight of campaigns, advertising design, media buying, strategy planning, social media, website development, promotional items, marketing, public speaking and more for local and national clients. He served as an advisor on the national Tips From Former Smokers campaign with the CDC.  Many campaigns included tobacco, suicide, obesity and teen pregnancy prevention as well as campaigns with behavioral health, public health, and WIC and EMS services.

As a public relations consultant for many years, Gibson has served clients in Oklahoma, Utah, Texas, Florida and London. In 2019, he was honored with an international MarCom Award for best single radio spot ad for the Libera Boys Choir from London promoting their U.S. Tour.  He has since won two additional MarCom awards for print brochure and promotional video. He is also a winner of the highly coveted PRSA Upper Case Award.
